Wash U and African Americans

So i am an applicant to WashU and I have not had the chance to go and visit the universit yet, but what i have read, seen and heard has all been good until a coupe days ago. I really liked how WashU seemed to reach out to its minorities and such, and that really drew me in, BUT the other day my mother was talking to my doctor, and she said that she knew some African-Americans that were having some trouble and were not truly happy there. SO, i just want to hear from any African-American or minority students that go to WashU. How is it? Do you like it? And do they embrace their minority population like they claim to in their literature and such?

You really need to visit Wash U...I am the mother of a freshman, and he loves it there. If you visit, I guarentee that you will want to go there! Everyone on my son's floor gets along, and there are several Asian, African-Americans, Hispanics, Indians, and Caucasians in his dorm.

I know two black Wash U grads who loved their experience and encourage other black students to apply.

There's a black h.s. senior who posts here, VToodler, whose older sibs went to Wash U and who wants to go there herself.
