I really do not know whether I should apply to Washu’s early or regular decision. I want to go there, but I’m still unsure about what I want to study and how much financial aid they would give me.

I don’t think i have as good of a chance because I did not take the most rigorous math class at my school. What should I do??
My next choice next to Wash U would be University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign because they have a great business and a strong Arts and Sciences College.
First of all, I really appreciate your reply so thank you for it!
UIUC doesn’t have ED or RD it just has priority application which is nonbinding and just allows you to be considered for scholarships, aid, and competitive majors before regular applicants. But, the trouble I’m having is that I want to be able to compare how much aid I get from all the school I’m accepted from and the pros and cons of each school. I know they like it when applicants apply ED but the “binding” part makes me a little apprehensive. WashU is my top pick alongside UIUC, but I just can’t choose between them right now.
Would I be competitive enough to apply RD and have a small chance of getting accepted?
If comparing financial aid offers is a factor, don’t do ED. Wash U’s most competitive and lucrative scholarships aren’t awarded until some time in the spring after ED acceptances have gone out. It also stands to reason that universities will tend to offer merit money to students they want to recruit over students who have committed to attend ED. If you are eligible for need-based aid, Wash U does not commit to meeting 100% of family’s EFC.
Ive heard that Washu is pretty generous with financial aid and that it meets 100% “demonstrated need”. I just dont want to risk getting stuck in a situation. Would chances be higher in ED compared to RD though?
