Wash U decisions are posted

so bummed...waitlisted

same ha!!!

same here…ahh, i’m depressed…

Just as a consolation, for those who are interested, the WL should be quite active this year.

what do you mean active?

What’s the % of people on the waitlist usually offered a place in the class?

Active = This year more people will be offered a place from the WL than in past years.

How do they order the WL? First come first serve? Or go down along list and pick randomly?

Given the present economic conditions, past numbers may have only limited validity this year.

Because of the economy expensive private schools like Wash U are quite uncertain that their historical estimates of yield will prove valid. In the face of uncertainty they may have a tendency to use the waitlist as an enrollment management tool. Schools similar to Wash U may do the same thing so that there could be a bit more reshuffling than is usual.

They are posted online, I assume? Totally nervous!!

And I can’t find my App ID! Ugh.

I’m In!!!
there were 23000+ applicants and 1400 were accepted. I feel so lucky!

waitlisted ARGH

that’s 23,000+* applicants

WL offers are made on an individual basis based on multiple variables. Certainly time of accepting the WL is one of the variables, but not a “end all be all” factor. It all depends on which candidate is the best fit for the freshman class mosaic at the point in time when openings become available. No WL offers are made on a random basis.

1400 accepted??? that’s freaking less than 10%… wow

ST2…got it…just disregard my private message to you

1400 spots - more than that were accepted certainly

oh well, their loss…I would have been a colorful addition to the Mosaic…someone out there wants me!

Where where where?

My log-in page for their site is all strange now, so something must have happened.
