Does anyone know if Wash U gives merit aid outside of the few scholarships?

That’s what I’m hoping for…

I know that they do merit/need based aid. I don’t know if there is any merit aid outside of the scholarships though.

i got a $2,000 yearly scholarship (on top of need-based aid) because i was a national merit finalist… wash u gives this money each year for all 4 years, whereas all the other colleges i was looking at only did it for your freshman year. i’m pretty sure it’s automatic, you just need to tell the National Merit corp that you’re attending Wash U, and of course tell Wash U about it too. it’s not the most amount of money in the world, but it is something nice if you’re an NMF, and other colleges (to my knowledge) don’t renew it annually.

beyond the merit scholarships you apply as a freshman, there aren’t any other merit awards. if you’re accepted, call the financial aid office and talk with them. they’re incredibly helpful (of course, i don’t know your financial situation, but it’s worth a try).
