Go Brown... you've got RISD right down the road, and I think through their exchange they let you take 4 or 5 courses there, and RISD lets their students take 4 or 5 at Brown. And with open curriculum, you can take whatever courses you want and not take whatever courses you dont want to take. Wash U isn't going to offer a class in something like "Furniture Making" or something like that, RISD will.

Go to Wash U ... and then regret passing up the opportunity to have gone to Brown for the rest of your life...

or you could just go to Brown.

While I do think that the OP should go to Brown, I think it's horrendous to be putting down WUSTL down so much.
I don't give crap if it's not Ivy, it's still an amazing school and is getting constantly better. You have no reason to bash the school.
And this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_notable_Washington_University_alumni
does not make WUSTL a 3rd or 4th tier School. You're just posting your ignorance by putting it down. Show the OP reasons for attending Brown and why it might be better, but do not put down WUSTL. To each their own, you have no right to take that away from anyone.
OTOH, Brown has a lot to offer as well.

You can't go wrong with the two schools you have, but pick wisely. I have friends who are going to go to each school and are in love with the respective institution. Enjoy!

Look at the actual art curriculum at each school to see which you prefer. Although you can take classes at RISD, students there have said it's very difficult. Brown and RISD are on different schedules (terms overlap) and it's hard to coordinate (but can be done). Most RISD classes are offered one day/week for 6hrs/class. Maybe ask this over in the art forum so you can get feedback from art majors at these schools. I think there's less administrative hassle now to cross-register at RISD but best to take electives.

just figured i'd let you all know my decision. i'm going to brown!
