Wash U premed

I was accepted into Wash U Arts and Sciences... I had a change of heart recently and possibly want to into premed.

Does anyone know if you had to specifically apply to premed... or just receive advising and can choose a major...

I am new to the whole premed thing... do you have to apply to something, declare something...

Not even for wash u, at any other university in general?

Thanks for the help.

There is no "pre-med" major in particular - If you're in ArtSci, you can major in Bio, Chem, and any other recommended pre-med major (though I don't know what the others would be).

Ok... and then there are advising programs?

I was just concerned that I needed to mark something on my application and was now somehow limited.

i wanna know this too, anyone knows if you have to specifically apply to premed???

you don't have to apply for it specifically, however if you mark it on your application, you'll be set up with the advisor when you get there and be on the email list already, etc. If you didn't, it's no big deal - you have to meet with your academic advisor to choose classes before school starts... just tell them then, and they'll get you set up.

Thanks a lot laurezer!!
