WASH U TRANSFER THREAD

Hey! I am just looking for anyone else who either got into WASH U for transfer, or even those who were rejected. I'm curious about stats, and who is accepting/giving up their spot. Plus, it'd be cool to talk to some future classmates.

Yup! I applied for junior transfer admission to Wash U and a handful of other schools. Hopefully I’ll get into one!

Have you checked online yet? My wash U decision has been up for over a week.

I check daily, still nothing.

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I have applied to Wash U as a transfer as well, but when I checked the website for the admission decision it said that they couldn’t make a final decision without seeing my mid-semester grades. Did they ask for everyone’s mid-semester grades or only some people’s? I am a freshman, so maybe that’s why they asked?

Also, my stats:
SAT: 2250
High School GPA: A (I forget exactly what it was, but probably about 93/94)
Current GPA: 3.6 (I’m taking math/computer science courses, which brings it down a little)
College/University: Rather not say, but it’s probably a tier below the Ivies, or a tier and a half.

Recommendations: Sparkling. I actually got to read both of them (I am close with the professors) and they were really lovely.

Activities: Lots of instruments, tons of clubs, a few sports, lots of leading roles in theatre, etc.
High School Courses: Pretty much every AP available, I took.

I am so nervous about hearing back. Eeek!

There was a mix-up with my transcript so that was probably a factor in the later decision. I sent them my mid-semester grades, but I’m not sure they asked for them explicitly. Hope this helps.

The mid-semester grades were asked for in the registrar forms. It’s a list of forms on the common app that when you assign a registrar person to fill out your stuff, you can see all the forms there, including the mid-semester one.

The form basically has spaces for your professor to write your current grade in the class, and a space for them to sign and write any comments they want to add.

Has anyone got a decision yet?
Rejected on Friday.

I was accepted two weeks ago.

@Sammvp1
Wow!
Congratulations!
What’s your reply due date?
How long they give you an offer after you’ve completed your application?
Can you post your stats?

They gave me until April 1st to answer (pretty short considering I don’t have time to visit yet, but I am sure of my decision). I’ve already enrolled. I completed my application on March 1st, and received notification March 19th.

High School Stats-
SAT: 1970
GPA: 3.6 unweighted
ECs: Founded The Political Club on campus, softball team, debate
Essay: Weak
Applied Previously? I applied last year and was rejected

College Stats:
Small Liberal Arts College in the Northeast
Cum GPA: 3.9 (I’m on trimester and we have completed two terms so far)
Reason for Transfer: I want to study Middle Eastern Studies and Business and my school has no such programs.
ECs: Taiko Ensemble (Japanese Drumming), Improvisation, Film-making club

@Sammvp1

Thank you so much!

I have applied for 19 schools, so I am still waiting for decisions for other 18 schools. Most schools will release their decisions in May.

So they just gave you less than two weeks to reply! That is hard for me to chose even if I am accepted. Whatever, Congratulations!!

How did you get notified of your decision? Did you get an email, or do you just have to keep on checking their app status site?

They sent an email said you will soon receive a formal decision notification(paper mail), and, at this time, they had posted your decision on Pathway.

My decision was up two days before I got the email. So if you are really eager to find out, keep checking!

Have any students who have been accepted heard back about financial aid? I was accepted on 3/21 and I have already sent in my enrollment and housing deposit, but I have not heard anything about financial aid yet.

I didn’t submit financial aid information so I’m not expecting anything regarding that.

Hey, I’m new to all of this but I got into WUSTL by transfer. I’m currently going to school in New York so I’m visiting on a Saturday to check things out

Congrats @champwells24! I currently go to school in NY too. I’m upstate near Albany. What are you planning on majoring in?

Hello everyone! I just got my acceptance today  No email, but I got a package in the mail.
