Wash U Transfers 2015

Just wondering who is applying to transfer into WUSTL this year. I’m hoping to attend after I finish two Associate’s degrees from my community college, this spring. My stats are in my other thread. Anyway, good luck to you all!

I talked to a WashU representative (although she was a part of the University College programs and could be biased), and she made it sound like it wasn’t even worth applying. As in, even if you were the perfect student, you won’t get in to the day classes if they don’t have a spot open. I think that was a bit over the top, because if you have the prereqs for you major and good stats I think it would be worth applying.

Did she mention a specific department? That sounds very grim.

I was asking about Computer Science specifically.

I’m applying to Sam Fox. Wash U is my dream school and I do hope I can make it! Good luck to you all!

Rejected. Just received notification today.

Sounds like we can all expect to hear back, soon. I’m very sorry, @TransferIntl‌. From seeing your stats on another thread, I know you’ll do what you set out to do, despite that notification.

Wait already? This seems really early…

They’re sending out decisions already?

My stats, I submitted my application on Feb 1st. Received decision yesterday morning.

I currently go to Case Western Reserve University for biomedical engineering, Spanish, Polymer Engineering and Biochemistry. I have declared four majors because I don’t want to graduate early. I have junior standing in all of them. I find out that I am very bored by engineering. I decided to do Pre-med only from now on. I am a sophomore applying for junior year transfer.

GPA: 3.907
95 credits completed including AP, 26 more in progress

Completed Cal 1, 2, 3 and Diff Eq. Engineering Physics 1 and 2. Gen Chem I and II, org chem I and II and pchem I. One year of bio, one semester of biochem. I have finished all the labs for the classes required. I have finished all the engineering core and pre-med requirement including psych.

I decided to truly pursue things that I am interested in. In progress major courses: Engineering Statistics, Biophysics II, Polymer Design, Polymer PCHEM and molecular biology. I am actually enrolled in 8 classes for the semester. I find those engineering classes are not challenging at all.

I have a strong letter from Biophysics I and Intro Polymer. A lot of community service and lab experience.

I guess they work on a rolling basis… Weird. Gaah that makes me nervous though.

@TransferIntl what were some of the community service and lab stuff you did?

@niches I volunteer in hospital, Esperanza - NGO, tutor for under privileged kids, MedWish, tutor Chinese in local elementary school.
Lab1 - Immunology, local complement signal’s effect on cancer
Lab2 - Polymer, synthesizing new polymers, specifically benzoxazine, with low viscosity and high anti-flammability

Your stats are pretty good though! I’m shocked. I’ve seen kids from other threads get accepted with okay stats. It’s very scary to see them send out decisions already.

It is likely to be greatly dependent on the majors that are hot right now. The spots are probably filling up faster in those schools. I’m going for English and environmental science in Arts and Sciences, so I don’t know what to expect.

I’m going for neuroscience as a transfer, so I hope they have spots!

Dang I’m going for neuroscience too  Seems like a super hot concentration right now

@TransferIntl‌ They already start rejecting people? Sorry to hear that…
But I think your stats are really good… Are you applying to other universities? I’m sure that you’re a good fit for some other elite universities, like Vanderbilt and Cornell…

According to email they sent to me, my decision would also be soon since my application was complete on Feb12th.
So worried!

@rvyuan‌ When did you get the email?

Did you email them first or did it seem like a mass message?
