So basically I was accepted to both and they'll both cost the same. So let the persuasion begin.

Both great.
On pure academics, Chicago is stronger; it takes a back seat to no other school. It also has beautiful architecture, but its campus is an oasis in an otherwise unappealing (and rather unsafe) area of Chicago. Chicago is "where fun goes to die."
WashU is very strong academically, but Chicago does edge it out. Its campus is also beautiful. Its students seem to enjoy the overall college experience more and have more fun.

Depends on how important academics vs. social life to you.
Chicago = Academics
WashU = (academics < social life)

The location where UChicago is located is not "unsafe" there are certain areas where you need to be wary but that is true of any urban school.

Also the social life is not necessarily going to be better at WashU, just different. Just because it's the place where "fun goes to die" doesn't mean that there is no social life there.

Both dish out a lot of work, but Chicago is notorious for its workload.

From my observation and conversations with people who go to both schools, WashU does have a better social scene.

Chicago, though, does have academics like no other school. If you don't mind working your ass off for possibly the most intense educational experience in the world, it would be a good choice. WashU's academics, however, are probably 95% as strong as Chicago's, and it's also going to be a very good academic school.

Chicago has a "core" that includes math courses. In Washu, Advanced Calculus exams are multiple choice, ridiculously easy.

You can make this an endless discussion. At these levels of academic excellence and reputation, go where you will be happy and where you feel the best "fit".

Really? What's the course number?
