Hi all, I am just wondering about the strength of the school's government/poli sci program. If any current/former students could give me some info i would really appreciate it. I also heard W&L has great job placement on Capitol Hill.

bump. anyone?

Anyone? Haha. I’m also curious, particularly about IR/policy.

The school has an amazing political science program. There is a separate college, The Williams School, for economics, politics, and commerce. [The Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics](<a href=“The Williams School : Washington and Lee University”>The Williams School : Washington and Lee University) That is the main website.
As for job placement, there are W&L grads in congress and the senate, plus the school does an amazing program called The Washington Term, where students intern for government offices, including major senators, as well as take a course in DC, getting credit for it. [Washington Term Home](<a href=“The Williams School : Washington and Lee University”>The Williams School : Washington and Lee University) is the program’s site. Some students are offered jobs after interning, for after they graduate.

The school’s website really has a lot of information. I’d start there. Oh, and you can major in politics and then “specialize” in a particular area. Hope that helps : )

thanks cinhype! just curious, are you a current student?
