<p>Check out the alternative to USNWR college rankings..Washington Monthly ranks colleges based on "social mobility" (grants, graduation rates), "research" ($$ and Ph.Ds) and "Public Service" (peace corps, ROTC, etc.). Good to see the 5-college area so well represented! Smith, Amherst, MoHo in the top 10.

<p>Thanks for the interesting information. How come I’ve never heard about the Washington Monthly rankings before? They sure don’t get much press.</p>
<p>I only noticed it because it was on Huffington Post…still, interesting since it apparently does not take into account SAT scores or ‘selectivity’ measures…I like that they count the grad school entries.</p>
