Anyone know anything about Washington State University in Pullman?
I was accepted. This is 6 for 6 acceptances, and I'm waiting on only one more school, University of Washington. I was planning to apply to COlorado State but after like looking more into the area, I decided I don't think I would fit the surroundings there.

So all I'm waiting for is University of Washington.

Anyway, how is WSU? Is the a big campus? How are the people? The professors? The dorms? Is the surrounding area like a busy city or more of a college town?

It is a college town in its entirety, out in the middle of pea and lentil fields. They make cheese (Cougar Gold). The campus is pretty, but not inspiring. There is A LOT of drinking. It is very cold. Football is big. For fun, students go to Moscow, Idaho. That should tell you something. I can't imagine anyone who would go there for the academics. (I know a bunch of faculty, though, and they wish there were more students who would.)

For a state school it is not too big and many that go there like it. The academics are improving and solid if not spectacular. Moscow is a pretty cool little college town--Missoula light. We hired a WSU grad last year and she is fantastic. Two years out of undergrad school she will be earning six figures.

My nephew did a concurrent two last years of high school with a firefighter program, is now finishing up his AA certificate in firefighting at BCC and is crossing his fingers that he will be accepted to a selective firefighting program at WSU
He is a totally great kid and representative of students at WSU IMO.

THey have some great programs and there is a lot more to do than drink. However football is really big as it is at UW, only the UW is in Seattle of course & WSU is in ...Pullman ;)

Both my parents are WSU alums and really enjoyed their time there. One of my best friends is also studying there right now. It's in pullman, a very very small town (University is about all to do, LoL), however the campus has a good "feel" to it. It had a reputation as a major party school but then it's been working on cracking down on that for awhile. It kind of passed the torch to Western Washington University, by all accounts. It's very strong in certain programs, like veterinary science and certain science fields, and weaker in others. I think the business program is pretty strong too.

Anyway congrats on getting admitted, and good luck with UW!
