Washington University in St. Louis 2024 ED1

I don’t think they had the ribbons last year though.

What about if you are not accepted? (I assume no big banner saying rejected  ) And what are the options for students not accepted – rejected or deferred?

Anyone have confirmation from WashU that today is the release date? Or could it be tomorrow?

No

i’m so stressed i haven’t stopped having a stomach ache since tuesday

D and I were talking this morning and we discussed the possibility of her not being accepted. We are trying to remember that if she doesn’t make the cut, there is a school she will ultimately attend that will be a great fit for her. Last year, S was not accepted to his ED1 school and ended up at a fantastic school that he absolutely loves.

From whom***

S - Class of 2023 was denied ED1 UChicago and is now going to Carleton College - a small LAC that has one of the best admission rates to grad school in the country. Great collaborative atmosphere and excellent alum help when looking for jobs after graduation. We were devastated when he was denied ED1 as he was a great candidate. We are now happy the he didn’t end up at UofC since he is so happy at where he is now.

Agreed! Though it’s hard to keep it mind when you’re in the middle of it, it really does work out. My D had some surprises along the way last year and ultimately ended up at a school she applied to last minute that she was intrigued by, but we didn’t know a ton about. It is absolutely a great fit for her and we have talked about that some of her favorite things about her school are not things she would have found at what she thought was her top choices going into the process.

As a WashU parent I want to wish everyone good luck. Have faith. My daughter was deferred from ED and ended up getting accepted during the regular decision period. She absolutely loves the school and has prosperred academically and socially. WashU has been everything we hoped for an more. The collaborative talk is absolutely true and was very helpful during the stress of a freshman STEM major.

Goog Luck… I remember the stress

Just called admissions office. They confirmed results will be released “tonight”.

Good luck everyone!

did They say anything about the time
It would be released?

Their office closes at 5pm central time I think so sometime around then

I’m going to assume, based off the past 2 years decision times, that the results will be released sometime between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm Central Time.

I received my decision at about 4:40-4:45 PM CST last year. Good luck to everyone! I have absolutely loved my experience at WashU so far!

We’re getting close!!!

@lightboy I agree 10,000%. Not getting into WashU or any other college of choice is not a defeat.

There are a ton of places JUST AS GOOD as WashU. I can tell you that not everyone that attends WashU - including those for whom it was a dream school - thought that it was the greatest place on Earth after all. (d attendee and graduated) Don’t sweat it.

It’s out

how did it go
