So kingsley290, we're from Boston and oldest S and I both had the same thoughts about Missouri two years ago when he was deciding where to go to college.

S is at Wash U now and loves it. Here's my take on Missouri, that all the Missouri people are now officially invited to post and bash me for: Kansas City (I go there for business regularly) and St. Louis are both really nice cities and you don't feel like you're in nowheresville in the Midwest when you're in either one. There's not much in between KC and STL, which are at opposite sides of the state (and I've driven from one to the other), but Missouri people are just very normal and we have found we like Missouri a lot. We actually like it a lot more than some other states nearer to Boston that I might mention but won't.

Hey David Cook from American Idol is from Blue Springs MO...

I lived in St. Louis (Frontenac, fairly near Wash U.) for three years. I lived in Chicago for 20 years. I know the advantages of large towns. I lived in Omaha for 2 years. I know the disadvantages of small towns.

I really like(d) St. Louis. It was a great place to live. It doesn't have all that Chicago has to offer in terms of entertainment/things to do, but Chicago is a six-hour drive away, and short Southwest flight. And, St. Louis is a very nice and warm and comfortable place to live. I didn't want to move, but sometimes (oftentimes) job comes before preference.

I'd move back to St. Louis and be happy. Don't ask me the same question about Omaha.

Accepted!
