Hello guys I searched through CC but I was unable to find a WUSTL RD Discussion Thread, so I thought I’ll just go ahead and create one!
Please join and discuss!
Deferred ED, I guess I officially belong here lol
@Ben576569 Sorry about that… I feel you.
I got deferred ED by Cornell AAP, which is also why I am here.
lol, no one is joining the thread, making me so sad…Where did all the applicants go?
I’m applying RD! Really hope I get in, very unsure if I have a shot at all
Son applying, the NPC gives out of pocket cost of about 3k which is great, not sure he will get in though. The engineering program seems to be research oriented which is a concern - not sure if there is much of a co-op program, but the low out of pocket might mean it does not matter.
I’m applying RD WashU is my first choice, but I can’t afford it without merit scholarships, so I couldn’t apply ED. I’m a prospective biomedical engineering major.
Applying to Arch program just submitted common app yesterday…
WUSTL has a rellay high school range tho…I don’t think my odds are good
Same @JemmaSimmons
Applying RD! washu is great
Can we apply to more than one merit scholarship?
@allima Yes, but usually not more than one in your specific school. For example, if you are applying to the College of Arts and Sciences, you can pick one of the full tuition scholarships for the college. However, you can also apply to all of the University-wide scholarships, regardless of your other scholarships.
Does applying to merit scholarship influence your chances of getting in?
@RUHTRA999 It is my understanding that yes, it does, as taking the time to write essays for the scholarships serves as demonstrated interest.
WashU is one of the few schools where merit aid decisions are made “blind” to ED acceptance status. We had my daughter’s college advisor confirm this with WashU directly.
No, it does not at WashU.
Ahoy! fellow applicants, International applicant to the school of engineering here!
Hello @Loyal0learner
I’m international too, applied to Arch.
Hey guys!! (First-time poster, here)
WashU is for sure my top school but I couldn’t apply ED for financial reasons. I can’t wait to talk to everyone on here!
My D applied RD. She visited for a couple of days last week and loved it. Got to visit a class, talk to the professor, interview, have lunch with a student, etc. She really likes the PDP program. It’s a long shot because she needs some merit aid to make it work financially.
Applying RD! How bad is it that I haven’t submitted my application, so I don’t qualify for the alumni interview?
