TBH, I don’t think my app for the Nemerov writing scholarship was that great (I didn’t have a lot of time to edit my short story). Would the quality of my scholarships affect my admissions result in any way? Does admissions even get to see my responses for my scholarships?
Did everybody receive an email requesting their mid-year transcript asap today? Not sure if this was just for Ervin Scholars or for admissions…
@Ceciliaagnes I received an email as well, and I’m not an Ervin applicant.
Thanks @JemmaSimmons, that’s what I suspected. They’re just looking to get everybody’s paperwork complete.
@Ceciliaagnes I received one too, but it doesn’t say the report needs to be submitted ASAP. For me, it says, “submit when they’re available”. International student.
same with above
hey, guys, I’m an international applicant to the school of engineering. I want to know how I’m meant to show demonstrated interest since I can’t visit or anything, and it seems like interest is really important
@Fejiro I would email your admissions counselor, add yourself to the email list obviously, did you apply to any scholarhsips?
@JemmaSimmons thank you!
How do colleges know if you went on visits or are on the mailing list. Like how do they keep track of everyone or do you include it on the app? btw im just a curious junior looking into WashU
@kassh4 I would assume it is based on the names of students and possibly email addresses for mailing list and visits.
Hi, I’m applying to wash u engineering but I was told that not a lot of money goes into the engineering department and there is a bit of a gap between students and research. how true is this and to what extent?
@Fejiro from what I know, Washu really values their research. when my friend visited, he said he saw huge signs hung around the campus that say “done research? now publish it.” it seems like they really do want you to move to the next level with your research
Question: does WashU require official college transcripts for first-year applicants (dual-enrolled in other colleges)? I didn’t find anything on their site
Thanks!!
@RUHTRA999 I believe if you fulfilled requirements through those classes then yes. I was dual enrolled at a college but only did extra classes there so I didn’t have to report those but I did anyway.
@ap012199 did you order a transcript to be sent directly from the college to WashU?
@ap012199 because my dual-enrolled class grades are shown on my high school transcript, too, I wonder if it’s necessary if they didn’t explicitly ask for it
@RUHTRA999 yes, but mine weren’t on my high school transcript.
My D sent unofficial transcripts of her college courses through her GC to her specific AO. If you contact your AO you can probably arrange that so you don’t have to pay for official transcripts.
Does anyone know how the school notifies scholarship finalists? Portal, phone call, letter? Do those who don’t receive an invitation hear as well?
