Hey y’all! Anyone waitlisted to WUSTL? Also, when they say they will call you if you get off the waitlist (does that mean they won’t send an email?)
I know WUSTL’s waitlist acceptances are very low… but there is still a chance!!

I think they’ll probably send an email and call if one of us gets off the waitlist.
Do you think we’ll hear back well before June 30th? I saw last year they sent offers to people by May 2nd.
@collegesavant1 alright, cool!
@futurecollegeguy I’m not sure, but I think they will have their final decision on our status by the 30th.
@musicmeister22 Did Wash U say that they will call you on their portal for the students they wait listed? My son is wait listed and I didn’t look at his portal.
@GammaDelta Here’s what my letter said:
The Admissions Committee at Washington University has carefully reviewed your application and would like to offer you a place on our wait list for the 2018 first-year class.
The competition this year was extraordinarily strong. The Admissions Committee was impressed with your application, and we are sorry we cannot offer you admission at this time.
If you would like to accept your place on the wait list, please read our Wait List Information page and submit your response by May 1, 2018.
If a space becomes available for you, a colleague from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will call you. If you are interested in accepting the offer, we will immediately send you a letter of admission that includes a deadline for deciding whether you wish to enroll. If you have applied for financial assistance, you will receive notification shortly after your admission letter. Should you choose to enroll, you will be asked to complete the information requested in the admission materials and to withdraw from the institution to which you submitted your initial enrollment deposit. Final wait list decisions, if any, will be made no later than June 30, and we will notify you on or before that date.
We appreciate your interest in Washington University this year and feel honored that you considered us among your college choices. We wish you all the best with your decision and hope to hear from you soon.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call any of us in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
I’m not sure if they will notify us through different means too besides calling… The only numbers I left were my home phone and my parent’s cell. They never answer any of those phones, unless they know the caller…
@musicmeister22 Thanks a lot. Hope you and my son gets the call.
If there is a spot in your major then someone may get off the waitlist
Contact them and give them your phone number to call
What is everyone major that are waitlisted

Waitlisted as a Legacy… poo
i’ve heard it’s beneficial to send an email/letter expressing you’re continued interest in wash u etc. do you think it’s better to send that now or closer to may 1st ?
If this is not your top choice, then don’t even bother. It’s in the middle of nowhere(small place, not safe and all). So be happy that they didn’t accept you. I’m sure you all are very qualified, the reason they waitlisted you is probably because they want to make themselves look more competitive, hence better ranking and “reputation”.
Plus my friend had perfect GPA and ACT score, and she is still waitlisted. All these colleges… it seems to me that they ultimately care about themselves and money. How sad. If you go to a college outside the US, it’s so much cheaper.
My daughter was waitlisted. She can’t figure out how to accept a position on the waitlist. The FAQ doesn’t say anything about how to accept. Any guidance?
@mom2girls00 Hi! It should be on the applicant portal page. There is a Wait List Response Form
@sofiapvoss I’m not super sure, but I think I saw on another thread that if you send in a LoCI closer to May 1st it’ll be fresher in their minds. But I have a feeling a lot of it is gonna be out of our hands. Good Luck!
@michellel777 Hi! I have a pretty much perfect GPA and test scores. I think there are loads of students that have these same stats though so college acceptances are very unpredictable. But WashU is an awesome school (I grew up close to the area, later moved to Nevada) and if given the opportunity to attend, why not. College application season is a stressful time but ultimately, we will thrive at wherever fate takes us. Good Luck with your own process!
