Hi everyone! I thought I’d create this thread so everyone wait listed at WashU could share information about the wait list. If you have any news about what’s happening with the wait list please post it! Thanks
Does anyone know if the waitlist was smaller this year? I thought I had read it some where, but I’m not sure.
Waitlisted
same
Waitlisted - just praying the yield will be lower this year since their average SAT jumped 100 points
Looking at the common data set, 2013-2016, Wash U admitted about 4800 out of approx. 30000 applicants. About 1800 enrolled. The applicants who were admitted from wait list:
Fall 2016: 53
Fall 2015: 129
Fall 2014: 0
Fall 2013: 80
This year 35000 applied.
Good luck to all.
It is true that some years WashU doesn’t accept people from the waitlist. Usually, they take people off the wait list as early as the last week of April, so you should send in your letters of intent asap before it’s too late.
Has anyone heard anything yet? Is the rumor that the wait list was smaller this year true?
should you tell washu where you committed? If they are in the same tier?
^I wouldn’t mention where you which school you committed to. If it’s ranked at the same tier as WashU according to US News and World Reports then I would go with that school instead of worrying about coming off a waitlist.
Do we need to send them our final transcript?
Just got the call, I’m in!
@mtl2000 Congratulations!
Congrats! What school did you get into inside Washu?
Anyone think they’ll still release more?
architecture
The chances of getting off the waitlist are extrodinarily small, especially for Waitlist U - I wouldn’t count on getting admitted
@mtl2000 May I ask what time you received the call? Was it through your cellphone or home phone?
Anyone else hear anything from washu?
I know of someone who got off the waitlist-will be attending Engineering and Applied Science.
