WUSL is a fine school, but not reknown in music, and it has a Department of Music. St. Louis itself offers numerous performance opportunities, and there are resources and contacts available from the school which would enrich the more limited music program at WUSL. It might be excellent for an undergraduate voice student if the voice teacher is good and the fit is right.

Curtis offers fine training, but acceptance there represents an annointment rather than development potential. Unless the singer has real star potential, call it charisma, as well as already being an excellent singer, Curtis is not interested.....fine, functional singing alone does not cut it. I have known some of their students, watched them work, and there is an inherent quality to them not common to the general singing world.

WUSTL is not a conservatory, nor does it have a school of music, and neither does it have a vibrant musical life like Yale or Harvard. To take you at your word, I'll give it a 2 at best.
