Does every single person that applies to Washington University get a course handbook, or is it only for transfer applicants? I am not sure whether or not every Freshman applicant gets one.

I think it's more like every applicant to WashU gets like 4 course handbooks!

You got four??

Yes. 4 course handbooks - the first three were the same thing, and the fourth one was the updated catalogue that I think only current students get. I also received three of the same viewbooks: I'm sure eco-friendly people get pretty ****ed at WashU by the end of the app process.

I am anti-environment. I want five of them.

I still have not gotten my WUSTL decision...it has been under review for a whole two weeks. I guess I am not getting in, and , thus, I have decided that I will go to school somewhere in Africa -Nigeria???, and become a true American volunteer.

Review for two weeks or you sent it in two weeks ago? I received my decision about a month and a half after I submitted the app. Don't give up.

It has been under review for two weeks.

Ah I see. I dunno.

More like 9 days, but, then again, I have gotten into other schools that were shoe-ins and took longer to decide my fate. I just want my decision so I can visit and check out, whether or not I go for undergraduate work, the Law school. WUSTL is not as strong in the liberal arts as it is in the sciences, so I will not be dissappointed.

Two things that I really like about the school are the research opportunities and small student body. Anyone familiar with law placement from WUSTL, and what do you think of the advantage of the small studeny body?

You can't really get specific law placement info unless you go to WashU's pre-law office as a student and request it in person. From what I've seen, WashU is decent at placement: 3 students enrolled at YLS and 10 at HLS last year. Also interesting is a link that was on the law school forum awhile back showing that the average LSAT score of WashU students was a 155...lowwwww. My #1 choice, Wesleyan, had an average of 161 and placed a higher percentage of students into top law schools - so you're not missing out on something huge if you don't get into WashU - there are less prestigious schools with better placement, so it seems. However, I would guess more people go to WashU with med school in mind than law.

Where have you gotten in so far?

155: ouch. Is that figure updated and accurate and do you have a link?

I have been accepted to two U.S. News tier-three schools (no need to mention mediocrity) and Baylor (which accepted about 42% of transfers this year), which makes my batting average perfect. Yet, I am awaiting my other decisions, which have lower admission rates.

This is the thread within CC - post #28:

I think the link within that link to the article is broken now.

Congrats on the acceptances. My friend also received admission to Baylor and I know the school is getting more competitive.

I do not think those numbers are correct. I do not see Johns Hopkins or UNC Chapel Hill on that list. It truly is an "unverified list."

The list is incomplete: that is not to say it does not have any merit. I wish the link still worked though and it evidently did at one time.
