washu chances

do i have a chance at washu?
i have a 4.4/4.6 GPA (4.0 is A, 4.6 is A+)
ACT: 34
3 season varsity athlete
lots of volunteering and i’m in multiple clubs
i’m a student of one of the best high schools in the country.
solid essay and strong recommendations from guidance counselor and my 11 grade math teacher
i want to major in mathematics and statistics.
by the time i graduate i’m going to have taken 10 APs (4s and 5s on all of them)
i don’t need any financial aid.
if you don’t think i have a chance, what can i do to improve my chances?

i’ve also taken all possible honors courses in math and science (my school doesn’t offer honors tracks for history or english)

You definitely have a shot, but it’s impossible to chance for such selective schools.

I’d say you have a pretty decent shot at WashU. You are within the range with your ACT and GPA. You seem well-balanced with multiple clubs and sports, so just make sure you make your essay unique and powerful. Tell them something they can’t find in your application.

Wash U also really looks at demonstrated interest - especially if you have high stats. If you can visit, do so. Or if not, be sure to request an alumni interview in your locale when you submit your application

^ people say that, but I never visited nor had an interview when I applied. I was genuinely surprised when I got in, because people say that a lot, and I didn’t think my app was good enough for WashU.

My friend got in ED with all the same stuff, but she is wayyyyy more interesting than you
