***WashU Class of 2020 RD Applicant Thread***

Is submitting a resume suggested, particularly for merit scholarships?

Actually I just got accepted to UChicago and will not be applying to WashU. Good luck to the rest of you! :slight_smile:

hey guys, do you know how we can demonstrate interest aside from visiting bc that’s not possible right now

@teenagecrime scholarship essays!

@teenagecrime definitely fill out the scholarship supplements, see if an admissions officer is visiting your school anytime soon and meet with them, or see if they are hosting an interview event in your city.

I’m a current student at WashU and if you guys have absolutely any questions, feel free to ask!!! Just message me or tag me in a comment, I completely understand how stressful this time is and I’d love to help in any way possible!

would the essays even help if i don’t have a shot at the scholarships?

i spoke to the alumni who visited my school, and I filled out the card she gave me, if that counts for anything

applying RD as well and trying for the nemerov writing scholarship :slight_smile:

@teenagecrime They definitely wouldn’t hurt. Also these scholarships are pretty substantial so even the slimmest chance is better than none.

hey everyone so i just submitted my application a few hours ago and i still haven’t received a confirmation email from the school (i did however receive a confirmation from the common app) - how long does it usually take to receive the email with how to access the portal?

@gray7time See the first item in this FAQ:

My D applied ED and got access to the WashU Pathway the day after she hit the submit button on the CA.

thank you! @ChicagoSportsFn

Hey people applying to Danforth (or other merit scholarships), so for the short answer questions that don’t have word limits, how many words are expected for that? How many are you guys putting?

What is the word limit for the Entrepreneurial Scholars prompt?

@Zeppelin7 I’m just writing about 500. I think that’s pretty standard for application essays… hopefully

I applied RD as well :slight_smile:

@janevyl actually I just found the word limits on the Danforth scholarship webpage. It’s 150 words each for the three short answers and 700 words for the main essay. So 500 words for each short answer might be a little too much haha

@TheWaffleMan149 Penn squad!!

Awwwww yeeeaaaahhh @icrievrytiem

Just applied Rd, 30 ACT; they said i was a reach for early action georgia tech, lets see how this goes
