***WashU Class of 2020 RD Applicant Thread***

Biochemistry with PreMed Track

Do you guys think that scholarship essays get sent to the admissions counselors? I thought they were only sent to the faculty committees.

Bump.

I’ve heard that the scholarship essays are not sent to admission counselors, but that may be incorrect and just a generalization.

Oh, lol there’s speculation from both sides I guess. Anyway, thanks for your answer!

When they are sending out the admission notification? From last year’s post, it will be early March?

wow i hope it’s as early as early march!!

I kinda hope they are sent to admissions bc I feel like it will help show interest. The people who only applied bc there weren’t any essays probably didn’t take the time to do the scholarship essays

@srivapau told me that he thinks the essays are not sent to admissions, but admissions probably knows if you applied for scholarships.

I honestly wish I applied to more scholarships than just one… might as well have tried for as many as possible but I was so burnt out from writing college supplements tbh =((

@shadyconcepts haha pretty sure that was everyone. I only got to applying to 2 of them

I can’t wait for decisions to be released. I think waiting is the hardest part.

I heard decisions for WashU scholarships come out next week.

@Solar7Flare From where? It seems weird that scholarships would come out before decisions since how would they know that the person they gave the scholarship too was actually gonna be accepted

@Solar7flare @VaishS Perhaps scholarship winners are preliminarily screened and given a nod and a wink when they are notified about their scholarships.

Lol I should’ve applied for some scholarships then

The scholarship results are posted!!

Didn’t get it. :frowning:

I just got a call… I got the Langsdorf Engineering Scholarship. They also offered me the McKelvey Research Stipend for which I didn’t finish the application…

When does WashU typically release RD decisions? Early, mid or late March?
