@Flawless01 for one year, about 70k
@Flawless01 I guess I can’t specifically say that he got a full ride, but he got 72k in scholarships, so I suppose in the 70k range would cover pretty much everything, like @TKDGMHS said
there was a link to a groupme posted awhile back- it’s still pretty active if you want to connect with some other admits. And I got in!
Can you send the link @gocards29698
^^
Also, did anyone make a facebook group?

here’s the one I used
I got deferred. I know that they defer a good portion of the applicants, but dies anyone know how many ED applicants get admitted in RD? Or how many of their ED applicants that Wash u defers? Just want to know if I have a chance at all or if it’s just a nicer form of rejection. Congrats to everyone accepted!
Wait, can someone please explain the cost to me? Some posts say that $70k is around a full ride, but tuition is around $48k per semester and the WashU website says that a total cost per semester is around $65k, which is around $130k per year. I got around $70k from WashU through the Eliot scholarship and merit scholarship that was given to me, which means I’d need over $60k to pay for the school. I’m really worried now about this because when I ran the net price calculator prior to applying, it said we would only have to pay around $5k per year because my need-based aid qualified me for almost a full ride…
Ah…I refuse to let finances stop me from my dream school :’)
Its 48k per year not semester
Oh wow, I can’t believe I didn’t know that…haha :’)
Wait, that means I got a full ride then! OMG what a relief!
lol same question, I also got deferred
My son got accepted
Is it just my assumption or is it the fact that Olin school is going crazy this year? It’s like most people around me that applied to Olin were rejected or deferred
@TwiceTrash What merit scholarship did you get? I thought those applications weren’t due until January 15, and even then we won’t find out about those until March. Are there merit scholarships that people are automatically considered for that are different from the big ones (Irvin, Danforth, etc)?
So my son got in (Yay!) but no way we can pay the EFC of $30,000 a year…anyone know if we have to turn down and take WASH U off the list or is there anyway to wait until we see if he can get academic scolarships? Maximum we can pay is $15,000 a year…
@candyandnuts I think that if you call their financial aid office and explain your situation to them, they might be able to add on to your financial aid package. I’ve heard of them doing that before
@JemmaSimmons the Eliot and Mesmer scholarships are kind of a combination of need-based and merit-based I think, and they are just one of the ways WashU builds up their financial aid packages. The scholarships strictly based on merit that have separate applications are due on January15, like you said
@JemmaSimmons There are two types of merit scholarships at WashU. The ones you have to apply for (Irvin, Rodriguez, Danford, etc) are based entirely on merit and essays. The one I received was the Mesmer (and the Eliot) and they’re automatic for students who are have strong financial need. They’re a combination of need-based and merit-based, like someone already said
I GOT IN!!! WOHOOOOOOOOO! Omg I started crying yesterday when I found out. I was so nervous. Unfortunately my friend got rejected and my other friend got differed… So sad…but anyone else who got in want to talk on facebook at all and get to know each other??
