Hi! I was also deferred from WashU and I was wondering what you did to help your application. Did you retake the ACT or just focus on your grades? Also, do you know what the probability of getting in is once you’ve been deferred is?
@College3748103 I plan to take the SAT in January. My friend James got deferred last year but was accepted in RD, he said he asked for an extra recommendation, sign up for a lot of contests such as AMC, and wrote the admission officer letters to update his app frequently. The deferred acceptance rate is 16%, said in a letter the admission office sent to my counselor.
@College3748103 If you can’t visit, I would get on a bunch of social media, like their pages and post how you love the school. You must follow up with them and say to keep you on the list for 2017, that you’d be glad to go and won’t be deterred in your enthusiasm. Next, show them your grades for the semester and any new accomplishments this semester. My nephew was waitlisted two years ago and didn’t get in but he didn’t express much interest either. I’m still baffled by that because he played football for 8 years, had stellar grades in APs and ACT of 34. Best of luck to you!

To those not accepted, going to washu vs. any other college means almost nothing, there is barely any greater benifit of going to washu than any other top 50 college, good luck

Congratulations to all those who got accepted. WashU is an awesome school and you will love it. As for others, your turn with the right choice is just around the corner. Be patient… it will work out just fine.

Hello!! I’ve been accepted into Olin School of Business, and I’m really excited to start next year!! But I didn’t submit my enrolment deposit till the 30th and I’m a little worried that my place will be revoked ): I haven’t been able to talk to the admissions officers because the office is closed. Can someone please advise me on this? Thanks!!

Do we know what day last year they released RD results? And do everyone’s results get released at once?
