Washu ED Chances??

Hey guys I just wanted to know whether I had a chance to get into WashU Early Decision. I am currently a junior.

Here are my statistics:
GPA: 3.67 (I am aware the GPA is a little low, but my school is quite rigorous)
ACT: 35
Classes:
AP World History (didn’t take the class but took the test) (5)
AP AB Calc
AP Chemistry
AP United States History
Senior Year Plan:
AP BC Calc
AP Macroeconomics
AP Biology
AP Government
(Potentially) AP Mandarin

Extracurriculars:

  • Founder and Head of South Asian Student Association
  • Founder and Head of Playback Theater Group
  • International Council Member
  • Asian Cultures Club
  • Year-round internship at WashU-Barnes Jewish laboratory (plan on entering research into ISEF Science Fair and continuing my research there)
  • Ranken Jordan Children’s Pediatric Hospital Board Member
  • Volunteer at Nurses for Newborns
  • ‘Let’s Talk’ program coordinator at Alzheimer’s Association
  • Surgical Stepdown Assistant at St. Anthony’s Hospital
  • St. Louis Rowing Crew (2 years)
  • Squash (3 years)
  • Tennis (2 years)
  • Teacher at KEEN (teaching disabled kids how to swim)

Assuming that you’re currently a junior-reach but there is a chance.

Son got in for Class of 2021 ED with about the same GPA, but you have the higher standardized test score and more ECs.

BTW love the user name. Given that 2 football teams left St. Louis…

I’m seconding @Hamurtle 's opinion. WashU’s definitely still a reach for you, but (Particularly considering you’re still a junior, and you’re going ED) it’s definitely an attainable reach. You’ve got great ECs and test scores, and your GPA is still pretty good. Best of luck!

You’re good to go.

I made it ED this year with way less ECs than you did, although i did have a higher GPA. WashU doesn’t seem to care that much though as long as you’re 3.7+ unweighted and do interesting stuff out of class. Your ACT score is fine. Apply ED1 and your chances go way up, although with your profile I think you could also shoot for schools like Rice ED and ED2 WashU, and still have a good chance. Entirely up to you.
