WashU for Law

Hello,
Kinn of new to this thread/forum, but I have recently been accepted into WashU for Law as an exchange student from Australia. (Currently studying Law/Psychology at University of Queensland) I do not know too much about Washington University so have mainly been just 'google' searching it - so would love some feedback.

Is it a good University/College? Is it still considered prestige? and does it have a good law program? are people nice? haha

WUSTL is a top 20 ranked university. But in the US, all law schools are post-graduate, requiring a bachelor’s degree to attend. Is this a joint programm or are you just going to be there for a semester?

Only for a semester!!

im a current undergrad student so i can’t speak too much about the law school but it’s considered a top law program (ranked #23 in the country even though im not the biggest proponent of using ratings for everything) and the undergrad program is ranked #14. While WashU is quite prestigous it does lack the national name recognition that universities comparable to it have, but that seems to slowly be changing. the people at WashU are extremely nice. I’m not sure how familiar you are with the various regions of the US but one of the reputations of the midwest is that it’s generally friendlier than its east/west coast counterparts (as someone from the east coast i find this to be true but that’s just me). The law school is located on WashU’s main campus which is absolutely beautiful and other programs located there are undergrad, business, social work, engineering, art. the med school is at a separate location. St. Louis itself is a wonderful city with great culture, attractions, shopping, and restaurants.

US News is a popular American ranking company and here’s what they wrote up about the law school [Washington University in St. Louis | Best Law School | US News](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-law-schools/washington-university-in-st.-louis-03092)

The only undergraduate I know who was studying law was constantly hard at work, writing papers and reading documents. I think ultimately he decided that law wasn’t for him. Don’t let that discourage you, but just understand that you’ll certainly have your work cut out for you!

I know of a few pre-laws. Their workload seems about on par with everyone else. WashU’s a good school to be at. Aesthetically, campus is nice, but it’s also not cutthroat either.

Thanks a lot everyone, hopefully I will still have a little bit of a life… haha, but please keep the posts coming!
