Are all of you guys committed to WashU already? They gave me no financial aid so I am leaning toward Georgetown.

I'm probably going to be a Cornellian.

Did any of you get a package that had a course packet and other information about scheduling etc?
I haven't gotten an official letter... what does this mean?

Those of you who are accepted, how did you find out?
Sorry for being clueless...

nevermind, i figured it out.
have all decisions gone out?

I just got accepted to Washington University as a transfer student!
Please tell me more about yourselves!

anyone else plan on going to

The School of Art and Design?

And as a response to the earlier post about going to Carnegie Mellon...Im transferring from Carnegie Mellon and I would highly suggest going somewhere else.

A lot of my friends and I have all transfered out and its really not worth the money. Because it used to be a technical school Student Life is very poor and the biggest problem among students is depression and boredom. If you really plan on transferring I suggest going to a state school for a semester or a year and reapplying.

Though if you do well at CMU, Washu really likes CMU applicants because
WashU and CMU are sister schools.

Rejected:
3.93 at very competitive LAC.
Great rec's and EC's.
Can't figure them out...maybe they just could tell I really didn't wanna go to WUSTL :-/

Anyone else unceremoniously dumped by WashU for no apparent reason?

Congrats to those who made the cut.

Well if this is true, it probably was reflected in your essays. How can you be surprised?

Mmmm, I can be surprised because I used common app and the same essays got me in other places. The understated rejection just kinda left a sour taste in my mouth but I don't mean to mope or anything, congrats again everyone and good luck in your new school!

really??CMU and WashU are sister schools?

Besides, if you're applying to other schools you can't specifically mention WashU in the common app unless you don't want to get in anywhere else.

That's why you tailor each essay to each school. I used the same barebones frame for all my schools but I built upon each essay significantly, stressing why I liked each university's academic philosophy, which specific programs and classes I liked, etc.

Uh, I just sent the exact same essay to every school. My essay didn't even include the words "college", "academic", or "transfer" in it.

Uh, that kind of doesn't fly when you're applying to schools like UChicago or Cornell.

However, if you did get into WashU, U of C, and Cornell with the same exact essay, mad props to you.

UChicago has their own essay.

But I did get into Vanderbilt with the same essay.

And that's not the point. The point is that I didn't make the essay about WashU at all.

hey guys i don't think i'll be attending washu...

bump..........

Correct me if I'm wrong: Washu admission solely bases on GPA. If your GPA is above 3.9, and other stuff is not too bad, 90% you get in. Otherwise, you're out.

I think you are wrong. I was rejected with a 3.93 and good all around app, but I think it may have had a lot to do with not having any SAT/ACT scores to submit (never took it).

Wohooooo!!! I just got their acceptance letter online I got in!!
