<p>Interesting, a friend’s kid just chose between three out of those four, chose Cornell after highly uninspiring Bowdoin overnight. Decided Bowdoin was too small for him, and he didn’t think he fit there perfectly from a social perspective, which can make a difference at a small school. Great programs, huge # offerings, for his interests at Cornell, moreso than Wash U. But YMMV and all that, these are all good schools, any couold be “best” for the right person.</p>
<p>I’m always amazed when these LAc vs. University choices show up in the end on CC, I’d have thought people would have decided this before they even applied. But it’s come up enough now that I can see that lots of people just wait to see where they get in, I guess.</p>

<p>That is an interesting list … at first glance they do not appear to have much in common otherthan being highly selective … different geography … city/rural … LAC/research U. To give inforrmed comments it would really help to know what drew your friend to this list.</p>
