so i got into washu and duke. which one has better science, biology programs? do dukies do just as well as washu premeds when it comes to getting into medical school? thanks.

You can't go wrong with either school... both schools are equal in this respect.

APRIL FOOLS!!!!

Duke>Wash U!!!

so, mondo, you're at duke? there really isn't a premed major, right?

i heard that duke med school is much more preferential with its undergrad applicants. i'm pretty sure that an outstanding four years at duke will be good enough at any med school in the nation

That's why 85% of its pre-meds get into medical school.

Numbers don't lie.

are you getting a significant amount of merit aid at wash u? otherwise, i don't really see any reason to choose it over duke, especially for pre-med (as a senior watching people get into med schools I can promise you that people do well here).

by the way, i applied and was accepted to wash u, if that makes any difference. you can PM me if you have specific questions. i really do think that duke is the better school, and--as an added bonus--kids don't have an ivy-wannabe chip on their shoulder here the way that kids do at wash u, prob because most of the kids here chose duke over one or more ivies because it offers a much cooler experience, in my biased opinion. wash u doesn't really offer anything that the ivies don't (in fact, the lack of D1 sports means it offers less). i don't know though, i didn't really seriously consider wash u when i was a senior so i am not the best source of information on the school.

Sorry for the late response.
No pre-med major BUT the school has a great advising system which lets you know which courses will help prepare you for med school.

WashU is seriously overranked. Go to Duke, no question about it.
