WashU vs. Georgetown

So I was pretty set on WashU until I got a call today from Georgetown saying I got off the waitlist (for the artsci college). Now I absolutely loveee WashU but the one thing I'm worried about is finding jobs/internships. I don't really know what I want to major in (econ, pysch, polisci, neuroscience, ???) which is why I want to not only take different classes but also try out different internship opportunities. Has anyone had firsthand experience with the WashU career center? Also, does anyone know if WashU still has good connections with companies outside of Missouri? Those are really my main concerns =/

I posted this list elsewhere, but here it is again. It is a list of the schools interviewing ON CAMPUS at Olin during the past school year. Companies listed more than once were on campus more than once. Some of these were specifically for internships, though most were not. You can go to the Olin calendar to see more. Pretty sure some of these companies are outside of MO. :-)

that's an impressive list. but i'm not in olin!
also, how does that compare to other schools (like gtown)?

Well, the psych department has position, Coordinator of Internships in Psychology, so it must be important to them.

Undergraduate Program @ Department of Psychology

You can pretty much do a search of each department you're interested in at both universities and see what's available. Washu has strong programs in psychology, political science, neuroscience. Not familiar with economics.

In all honesty, connections are what YOU make, not what a specific college makes for you. If you want to make connections in the political realm, are you planning on doing any post-undergrad work? That's when going to a DC school will help you the most. Aside from that, go to the school you like the most, and while you're there proactively set up your own connections to the best of your ability. My brother personally went to a college in Illinois (where I/my family are from) but through a bit of work got an internship in NY- they flew him in the summer of his junior year (he applied for this, it wasn't offered through his school). Having a college do the legwork for you is convenient, but by no means necessary, and sometimes doing the hard work (calling, inquiring, setting up relations) makes you seem more motivated and lets you stand out as an individual.

(EDIT: sorry for the thread revival, didn't realize till after I posted)
