I am currently a sophomore at Mizzou. I struggled to decide between MU and WashU for my freshman year and am considering transfering. Just to give some details: I am a Poli-Sci and History double major right now (though I might change to Philopsohy), am in the honors college, and am most likely going to law school. My tuition at MU is basically paid for by various scholarships and I don't think I'd get anything at WashU other than Bright Flight. I've always wanted to go to an "elite" school, but I am not sure if it's worth the money and the time to readjust, make new friends, etc. I also like to have a good time (i.e. party and yes, maybe even drink some alcoholic beverages)- I'm not the type of person who only cares about school, extracurriculars, etc. (though they are very important to me). The people and friends I meet are extremely important, too. Anyone have any advice? Thanks for any help

I don't think that you should transfer to WASHU simply because of elitism.

do you go to WashU? I figured WashU would be a little less of an "elitist" school than others. What's your experience?

I actually go to Emory University in ATlanta, GA. However, I will attend WASHU next year as a transfer. Emory and WASHU are very similiar in terms of prestige. As far as elitism, I don't think that there's really a lot of elitism at Emory.

nor Washu! From what I know, WAshU students are very nice and welcoming

Thank goodness...I'm going to WashU next year, and I can say that I was impressed by everything they offered. It's got rock-solid academics across the board, but without a lot of the elitist and cut-throat nature of lots of the ivy leagues.
