WashU vs NU

After exploring each website as well as reading numerous forums about each of these schools, they seem pretty comparable to each other regarded admissions. Is one known as being more difficult to get into than the other?

I love Northwestern for its communications and journalism programs, but WashU doesn't seem to have much of that. However WashU's website mentions a BS in communications, journalism and related studies (although I don't know if it's even a good program).

Both of these schools are huge reaches for me. I'm a B+ to A- student with 9 AP's and 160 hours of community service. Taking the SAT's one more time hoping to boost my scores (and chance of being accepted for that matter). Is there anything I can do at this point to help me chances even more?

Are you a junior or senior? If you’re a junior, you’re going to have to get A’s in all of your classes. If you are a senior, there’s not much left you can do. Just hope for the best, but expect the worst.
If you want to do Communications, and NW has a program that you know is highly respectable, then I’d go there.
