washu has started to make waitlist offers right??

Yes, he submitted a LOCI. He received an email - which ended up in his Promotions file (!) in gmail. Make sure to check!

thanks- congrats once again to him!

Anyone else gotten off the WL yet?

when did he submit the loci? and what school in washu did he get into?

Registered D last night into Olin off of WL. Feel fortunate to be early in the process. I sense they will work methodically as they fill out the class. Good luck.

Of WashU or Olin?

WashU. I think shes doing something in medicine/bio

Interesting. I thought they would come out in waves but I guess it’s more of a trickle if they’re admitting students on different days of the same week???

I think the person who responded to you was quite fair overall. With respect to “not as good as it seems”, I think there are two issues at play here. My take as an alumn who ended up back in STL living near the school.

  1. for just about every school, admin and admissions gives off a sunshine and roses vibe. WashU and similar schools are great schools. But at the same time, it’s not as wonderful as the outside perceptions. No school is. And students capable of getting admission to a WashU will do every bit as well at a rather broad range of schools…including schools that are not as selective. So don’t sweat it. That’s what I got from the first bit at the end.

  2. there has been a lot of discussion around mental health supports on campus. I started to go through the a full account here, but since you’re a parent of an current student:

-read the paper and note from the new editor.

-read the comment from one of the parents of a now (tragically) former student on the WashU parent page related to emergency wellness access procedures.

-ask your kid about student perceptions of mental health on campus.

I don’t think WashU is alone on this one. There is a mental health crisis nationally. But as an alumn who loves the school, it does pain me to say that they need to do better.

Question: I was accepted off the waitlist, but in between the offer and the commitment (I accepted the offer today) I was suspended for two days. Now, it was a behavioral suspension as a result of a crude joke, not due to fighting or anything incredibly serious, but I know WashU is a competitive and selective institution. So, with that being said, is it likely that WashU will revoke my offer of admission? They said that they will re-review my application.

how did they hear about the suspension? Are schools obligated to notify? Which track where you accepted into?
