<p>Did you know that Washington University is increasing its tuition rates by over 4.5%? The new cost of tuition will total $31,000+--making Washington University one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, school in the country. </p>
<p>However, what I find most interesting is the fact that Washington University didn't announce its tuition hike until after the undergraduate application deadline, when all the applications have already been submitted. I wonder why?</p>
<p>Every year, tuition costs rise and it happens at most colleges. Even the state colleges are crying the blues about tuition hikes. The cost of living is up, so tuitions rise as usual. Let me say this, do not go to Wash U if you are hung up on tuition increases-go to a good state college, which there are plenty. Personally speaking, Wash U is worth every penny. They treat their students, without a doubt, the best, and while visiting my son, who's is a freshman, I have never experienced a happier bunch of kids. He loves Wash U, and as a parent that makes me feel really good.</p>
<p>I wont have any problems, being an international applicant i have already listed my estimated familt contribution. So IF i get admitted washu is paying tht increase by itself.</p>
<p>all the other schools are going up by 4.5% too. infact, i think the college board calculator even uses 4.5% as the inflation factor per year</p>
<p>Nomad - If only it worked that way! What you feel you can afford to pay and what the school feels you can afford to pay are most times very far apart - international student or not. ( Somewhere in the information on financial aid for international students it even states that there are "limited funds" available for Intl.s financial aid. I tried to find the exact quote in all the Wash U info floating about but no luck yet.) Not knowing anything about your family financial situation tho' this approach may work out for you. I applaud your optimism! :)</p>

<p>Well Washu U is going to try getting more money from what I can really afford, i will say, umm okay better luck recruiting a quality applicant next time :D</p>
