I was in the middle of writing my final sentence with about 2 lines left on the second page on the essay yesterday. Will this detract a lot from my essay grade or do the readers understand that I simply ran out of time? It was like "Even though a close friend," -end of essay :(

That happened to me, too! Only I thought it was supposed to be a 5-paragraph essay so they called time in the middle of my 3rd paragraph, so I just quickly wrote some random sentence at the end lol.

My problem was a little different from yours; i actually ran out of space…and still had 5 minutes remaining. Oh and i was still on my 3rd body paragraph…

Anyway my advice for the next time you take the test is when you do practice essays, give yourself 18-20 minutes instead of 25. Practive that way about 5 times like i did, and you will also be running out of space on the actual test :)

Mine was barely 1 and a half pages…anyone else fit there’s into that little space?

Well, I don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but in the March test, I completely ran out of time and scribbled off a last sentence basically repeating what I had just written. I had no conclusion of any kind, but I somehow still got a 10. So don’t stress too much!

SAME. Well, I want in my 4th paragraph. I actually had to cut down on my last example (had to rush Macbeth :x), to make sure it fit. I left no room for a final paragraph.

But they grade based on how well you support your introduction and thesis. And your writing style/technique. Obviously they’re not looking for a perfected 2 page paper on the topic. So, they’ll see that your essay, if given the chance to be edited and finalized, would be great. And they grade it.

If you guys follow AcademicHacker’s guide, it may help because with the universal template, even if you run out of time, you will know exactly what to write for your conclusion and it isn’t very long either ^^
