Waste of an ACT 34

My friends (twins) recently took the ACT withOUT writing and got a composite of 34 each.

Most of the upper colleges seem to want either SAT or ACT WITH writing. If their SAT scores were only alright, will colleges even care that they did so well in the ACT if they didn't do the writing component, or will it all go to waste?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i think it'll still be nice to see on a college application, provided they send something that fulfill's the college's requirements. i can't imagine why it would work against them.
