Hi everyone i need some advice..
I have two first choice schools and iwas accepted into both!!

I am going to be a communications major and have been admitted to both programs at Syracuse University (newhouse school of communication) and Boston University (College of communications) both are some of hte best communications schools in the country

i can not believe i got into both i am SHOCKED and i dont know where to go PLEASE HELPPPP MEEEE

yeah...i mean i applied EDII to BU and was deferred so i did not think i would get in so when i got into cuse i was like im definitly going there. I like teh city of Boston MUCH better than syracuse lol..i got the same fin aid at both schools even though Boston is more expensive... but everyone keeps telling me that Newhouse is like a life calling and its so amazing etc etc and I know BU is second but like i dunnooo loll

also- i want to continue cheerleading as i have in high school..i think i will make either team but at syracuse sports is huge and at BU its not so much..but i also dont want it to be my whole life so i really dont know what i want

For the academics I would choose Newhouse at Syracuse, but I also wouldn't trash BU because being in the city has better interning opportunities

I can't believe some of you like BU... Its a very mediocore school, even though it is extremely expensive... The housing is also horrible... Syracuse is a lot better

The communications school at Syracuse is much better than the communications program at BU. If academics were the only issue, that's where I'd head (in fact, many years ago, I did just that and have never regretted the choice. :) )

But there's more to college than academics. Frankly, I find the students at BU and SU to be pretty much the same, so it's not a matter of fitting in better at one or the other. So, taking out academics and campus culture, the main difference between the two is location. If Boston is calling to you, go there. It will all work out in the end.

I heard syracuse was in a ruralish area? I'm not sure and Boston is very city like. I visted BU and I didn't really like it. dorms were really small and its really busy...but its up to personal reference. You should definately go visit if you can!

BU is overrated for most of their programs, but their communications program is great. Plus, your in the city of Boston. It sounds like you prefer BU, especially since you applied EDII. Go wherer you're gonna be happiest. Not where everyone else tells you to go.
