does that mean that u did all dat work for nothing?

well you certainly dont have to worry if you dont get into med school you could clearly fall back on you absolute mastery of the english language, and becomce and english teacher yo.

hahhaha...Actually, you could probably go for a job in a lab or something like that and then apply again the next year after getting some experience.

ROFL chucknorris. well done

**** kobe. free lil kim.

It's fairly common to reapply one or two times.

After you get your rejections, you can schedule exit interviews with the schools to ask them what you can do to improve your chances next year. I know from friends who had to do them that they can be very unnerving, but the schools are usually very honest with you. If you do improve the things they tell you, then your odds are good that you'll get accepted the 2nd try.

Whoa. How does one go about getting an exit interview? I'm very interested.

Call up the schools that rejected you, usually the Dean of Admissions or you might start with the admissions secretary. Some will do them over the phone if you're not in the area. I thought you were already accepted?

Well, there's a gigantic recycling center next to the AAMC. All the grad students who don't get into medical school get ground up and recycled into MCAT test books/computer software.

Well, yes, to some of the schools.

It's interesting, I've tried to get this from a couple of the schools I applied to and they don't seem willing to do it. Secretary: "Send the director of admissions an e-mail; I wouldn't expect a response, though."

Interesting, what schools?

I didn't ever have to do it, b/c I got accepted to the two schools I knew I was going to end up at, and so cancelled the rest the applications I still had out (unfortunately not before Tufts cashed my $95 secondary fee). But my friends that didn't get in, never complained of having any problems.

Maybe the phrasing of the request? I don't know. You've been accepted other places and the schools do talk to each other, particularly when it gets into May, so perhaps they don't feel like they owe it to you...not sure what to tell you.

bluedevilmike where did u get in

Hi,

Bigred, I've PMed you the schools I inquired about this at.

Confused, it's my philosophy not to talk about the specifics of where I'll end up; too many neurotic premeds run the risk of applying my decisions to their own lives!
