if an A is 4.0
then does that mean every 2% or 2.5% is 0.1 on the GPA scale?
so that would make B- a 3.0?

a B- would actually be equivalent to a 2.7 on the 4.0 scale. A 3.0 would be a solid B.

A=4.0
A-=3.7
B+=3.3
B=3.0
B-=2.7
C+=2.3
C=2.0
C-=1.7
D+=1.3
D=1.0
F=0.0

I don't think plus or minus matters. My friend got straight A-'s and got a 4.0.

It depends on the school/college.

Here anything below a 96 has .125 subtracted from it.

my school doesnt do the whole A- B- thing i asked and anyways dont colleges redo everyones gpa to make it fair becuz they know some schools are different??

All colleges eventually convert grades to this format.

um...
A 4.0
A- 3.6
B+ 3.5
B 3.4
B- 3.2
C+ 3.1
C 3.0
C- 2.8

^^^^^^^^^ and the above post is exactly why they convert them

how do colleges convert them to that scale if your school doesnt give B- and A- but just B's and A's?

lol
heres the real conversion table guys!

A 5.73
A- 4.986
thats all i remember..... =)))))

how do colleges convert them to that scale if your school doesnt give B- and A- but just B's and A's?

Then there is no conversion as long as A=4.0, B=3.0 etc...

lolok1214, where'd you get that scale from? All the 4.0 scales I've seen and been calculated based on are based on the scale avanex20 posted...

i dunno where i got it. oh well, i dont really care, i have a 3.8

lol (10 characters i0rgfbnkfgnlfpnfgn

At Dartmouth and Columbia it was:

A+: 4.33
A: 4.0
A-:3.66
B+:3.33
B:3.0
B-:2.66
etc.

waoh a B- is pretty frickin low what gpa do they look for? i hope its not stil a 3.5
