Soccer and crew

if you wanna bulk, dont do cross country @Daxlo

Golf and competitive gardening

I’m a golfer :)

^[Is this you?](http://t1.ftcdn.net/jpg/00/21/93/02/400_F_21930206_hUW4ttiTSkmhMMaFl9dW99ijXWqt2R5a.jpg)
Lawl, the internetz has everything. A penguin playing golf?

Cross-country in fall, track in spring(sprints and hurdles)

Daxlo, you’re right about XC; it will kill your muscles, esp. once you start doing long runs 45+ mins at faster than a jogging pace. You can lift weights routinely while u are in XC…if u have the energy, and that way you can stay lean, but other than that, we stay relatively thin haha.

Francitpizza, XC is the healthiest choice you could ever make in your life. The doctor told me my blood pressure was “EXCELLENT!” after testing my blood (I had a double cheeseburger & fries from Mcdonalds 30 minutes before) during cross country season. You don’t really need a passion for it to do it. I did it for the sake of doing something since I quit band, wanted exercise, and wanted to have fun with friends. Half our team did it to prep for track season and/or cut weight for wrestling season though. No pressure, but once you run your first 5k in a time that you want and each time you run a personal record, you’ll feel so accomplished that you won’t ask yourself why you even did it…that or you’ll trip on a stick and feel like hiding under a rock…happens to the best of us ;)

Airsoft, scootercross, drag/track racing. I consider them sports.

Yea, i’m still trying to figure out a work-around. I want to build up my endurance, but i don’t want to be skinny. I need a plan.

Swimming and Tennis

Daxlo5, you can try swimming at a moderate pace for fifteen minutes per rep, once comfortable with that add another five-fifteen minutes, and repeat. As long as you don’t sprint/push yourself to hard you’ll build endurance and be toned but not thin, granted I’m a tad biased…

Volleyball
Maybe I’ll do cross country to bulk down…I’m ok with running as I did track for two years but I hate running in bad weather. And I’m very out of shape right now.
Is XC strenuous in terms of how long running is and how much time it consumes?

Varsity Cheerleading… and I did varsity Field Hockey 10th grade… but we don’t have a team anymore… So yeah.

I really want to do Club Hockey in college next year. I miss it dearly.

You made my day HarryJones! XD

Itsraininghere you will run always have practice unless it’s storming. (Snow, sleet, rain = PRACTICE!). Yes, XC is very strenuous. Your whole body hurts when you are racing, and you are constantly pushing yourself in practice. Expect to give it about 10 hours each week + the odd Saturday race (invitationals). The long runs are strenuous if u make them. This year, our coach trusted us to go on “long runs” alone and we didn’t go hard at all so at the last important race we crashed and burned haha…but it was fun.
Outta shape don’t matter! I was overweight until 9th grade! I started XC in 11th grade and ended up varsity my first year with my fastest 5k (3.1 miles) time being 18:27, alright for a first year and never having run before. If the people in XC are fun, you don’t dread practice and actually enjoy it.

Take a guess.

haha, bulk down. I like the oxymoron. It’s called “Cutting”. :)
