IB band nerd who loves working with disabled kids.

llama, how many CAS hours do u have? What's ur predicted point total?

I'm totally done with CAS because I volunteer a lot, and CAMP has given me 575 service/action hours in the past two years.

I got a 6 in French and 7 in Bio. I'm expecting a high Psych SL, WAS HL, and English HL, but the skills of my HL Math teacher worry me a bit.

Which reminds me. If I don't go do my WAS homework and study for my math test tomorrow, I won't get an IB diploma. Good night! I'd like to pretend I'll be off all night, but lack of will power will bring me back to check on these boards again. :)

My hook is distance running. I've run 3000+ miles, which I keep track of in a training log, since my freshman year and I really tried to exhibit my dedication for running in my app.

human rights activist: started a chapter of amnesty international in my town/high school (had to make a presentation to the school board since our town is republican/conservative), card-carrying member of the aclu, spearheaded heifer project two years in a row.

also i row but im too short to row in college, especially an ivy league school where its super competitive.

I've been taking classical dance for 12+ years and will have my graduation from the dance academy next year, with live musicians from India. Also, I've been teaching dance to underprivileged kids in my religious school.
btw im applying RD, not EA.

I don't have a "hook" per se, but my application theme was my desire to work with children and work in the Yale Child Study Center. I have volunteered a lot as well.

riiggghttttttt..... hoook... if they think you are the top applicant of the year, you will get in.

see i don't need no fcking hook on this app
(sry had to say that, old song btw)

All I need is a track in the background...

Wrathofgod, you beat me to it.

I'd be the Asiaphilic volleyball player, I guess.

frecklybeckley, i have a question. does it count as "legacy" if a parent once taught at a certain school?

Mine will be my passion for missions work. I went on a missions trip after my junior year.. and then raised $2200 in my middle class (it wasn't like 5 sponsors) town to go on a missions trip to Guatemala for 2 weeks this past summer. Not huge, but it is my passion and it has led me to my pre-med (large ammounts of medical missions work in my future) choice.

you guys are awesome

I am so proud of you all! I don't know what my "hook" is... hmmmm

FILM.

i founded a film festival at my school, ive taken (the only) film class at my school, i wrote one of my essays on my love for film, i plan on majoring in film studies, and i sent in a dvd of my filmmaking, cuz i do it in my spare time.

hopefully they don't get many film studies applicants. But that's my hook, if I have one.
