wat your hook gon be

weirdoone,

i don't think it counts if your parents taught in the past, but even if your parents teach there now, it doesn't qualify you (or me, for that matter) as a legacy. legacies are reserved for the children of yale alums who contribute to an annual fund. yale profs, however, are paid by yale and most certainly do not contribute to yale. therefore, having a father who teaches there does not give me much of an edge, although because of his position in the school of medicine, i probably get a little edge over, say, Johnny Harvard.

haha or eddie princeton

I'm 15 - I'm also a cheerleader, and I bet they don't get too many cheerleaders applying - the guidance counselor at my school said that my hook would be my writing, though.

reading all of your hooks has inspired me to think. I guess my hook (although not that unique of one which would probably make it not a hook) is my combination of athletics and extrecurriculars. For further explanation please see my link to my prstat page

if you work at a uni and ur child enters = free tuition

Davidrune, you don't need a hook. You're in. Order your sweat shirt with the Y on it.

im jewish....i think im gangsta....nuff said?

Volunteerism (1200+ hours so far), LOTS of leadership (Officer positions in 4 clubs), personally picked by the Governor of New Mexico to serve in his cabinet for youth.
Taught at middle school since 8th grade...music for 14 years.

I guess if I have a hook, it would have to be that i started a student-run peer tutoring program at my school on my own after the guidance department's program didn't work. I am also very involved in FBLA and have won awards on the state level for a debate event in FBLA. I hope those are good enough!!

Oh! I've got one! Polish/ (3%) native american who has ADD and a heart murmur! Yay! Oh! and umm... that's about it... but with enough imagination, anyone can have a hook, right?

sounds very good - sounds like a hook to me! technology hates me, but i have a great respect for filmmakers, and wish i could film. on the DVD of "The Sixth Sense" is included a short film that Shayamalan made when he was about 11.

Yale's my first choice for universities. i plan on majoring in drama/english, so maybe we'd share a class or two. you never know.

Location

I live in alaska. Is that a hook?

hey weirdoone, was your post there in response to mine? or did someone else post about filmmaking that i havent seen

Living in Alaska can tottally be a hook, just use a little imagination and a pinch of fairy dust and poof! Maybe write about your concerns with the environment and say you did something to help it and....... man. there's a lot of possibility for that!
