The water fountain water in dorms taste like *#($&#(&). Does anyone know what they add in it? I don't know anyone who likes that taste and when I filled my water bottle with it and compare it to poland spring water, the filled one seems less clear (Slightly).

it's just gross tap water...i mean they do add flouride to the water in ny state but it's not that that is gross...it's just the grossness of the water, plain and simple. you should not be drinking it. buy evian. and recycle it. (in glass bottles to be especially environmentally conscious). IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

Colleges usually do not have a good reputation for water fountains, from what I hear.

I think Ithaca just has very hard water...every time I turn my faucet on it smells like chlorine. I just use my Brita filter and all is good....but I find that I have to change the filter quite often...

i live in collegetown and i actually think the water is pretty good, but I'm from long island where the tap water is terrible

^^hah...understandable. I'm from Upstate NY and have well water which is fairly clean so Ithaca's water drives me nuts :-)

cornell gets its water from the gorges (jk). but seriously, i was at target and the water from the fountain tasted much better than the crap at cornell. i just buy gallons of poland spring to make drinking easier and probably safer.

so hard to carry all that water back from target =(. why dont they have free shipping?! =O!
