Hi im a canadia student and am interested in waterloo, toronto, michigan. I want to study electical engeneering and computer science. Assuming I get into all three which university should I choose? Comparing the level of education, tution fee, and overall everything which university is the best? I dont care about the brand names.

If you are a citizen of "Canadia", Toronto and Waterloo will probably be much cheaper to attend and they are both excellent in Engineering. Michigan has better facilities and more research opportunities, but that will not make up for the significant difference in tuition. I say go for UT or Waterloo.

It's probably be best to go to college in the country you want to permanently live in, right? I'm not sure exactly how that works but I figure if you want to live in the USA then Michigan would be best.

both Toronto and Waterloo are highly selective in both fields. not sure about michigan. if you get into toronto and waterloo you might want to pay both a visit and make your choice. good luck.

Waterloo and UofT are both really good for engineering. However, for electrical eng and computer science in particular, I would probably recommend Waterloo, they seem to be stronger in math/computer areas (there's a reason why Bill Gates only goes to Waterloo out of all the Canadian universities).

I go to UofT for EE btw, I'm not just trying to promote my own school here.

Waterloo all the way.

Waterloo b/c of the the co-op and name. You can go to America for grad school.

If you're not going to grad school and plan on working in the US, or cost isn't a big issue then go Michigan. If you're going to grad school then you can go in the US, so you should probably go for Waterloo. Also, if you plan to stay in Canada, go for Waterloo. I'd stay away from Toronto.

Still, if you want a typical, movie like college experience then go to Michigan. If all you care about is education then it won't make a huge difference. But American universities have much larger endowments which lets them offer many more different things like big time athletics.

why would you stay away from toronto?

Do you have any idea how well respected engineering at U of T is? Still, waterloo is better at computer, so I’d stick with waterloo.

I don’t think the OP is listening…SINCE THE THREAD IS 1.5 YEARS OLD!!

I would say either Toronto or Waterloo, I don’t think you will have a problem getting a job in the US if you graduate from either of those schools.

It has an outstanding rep, but I’m not sure why you resurrected this thread.

Haha, this is funny.
Balthezar is right… this thread is 1.5 years old. The OP has not been active since April of this year. So really, there is no need to even answer this thread!
