I am an Interior Design major and transferring schools and looking at both Watkins in Nashville, TN and O'more in Franklin, TN. I've been doing research on both of these schools. I would prefer to stick with a private art institution such as these two schools. I have heard mostly all good things about O'more, but also that their acceptance rate is lower. I have heard mixed reviews about Watkins, but am still interested.

Has anyone, Interior Design majors especially, attended or graduated from either of these schools? What can you tell me about them? Also what are the Nashville/Franklin areas like?

I appreciate all answers! Thanks all!

Hey!
I am an junior in the Interior Design program at O’More College of Design and I would love to shed a little light on the subject. While I was looking for a good interior design school, I also had it narrowed down to O’More and Watkins. My mom and I set out to visit both schools which I would encourage you to do, it makes all the difference in the world. While they are both excellent schools with great reputations they have a completely different feel to them. Watkins has a greater focus on contemporary, streamlined, cutting edge design while O’More places more emphasis on history and tradition with creativity. Obviously I loved O’More! It has a great family like feel to it and the campus is BEAUTIFUL! The course work is challenging and intense but so worth it.
Again, I would urge you to visit both of these wonderful schools, you will know which one is for you as soon as you set foot on the ground!
As for life outside of school, it’s awesome! Nashville is such a fun city: country but artsy. Franklin is a really cute old town with a lot of good shopping and dining again a visit would be invaluable in determining if both the schools and the area is for you.

I hope this helps!
