srsly guyz

horse

"Aggie" stands short for Agricultural, cause Davis is known for its agriculture
UCD's mascot is a mustang

Actually Davis Aggies means UC Davis Agriculturalists, not "agricultural". An Agriculturalist is someone who studies agriculture. Our mascot is Gunrock the Mustang.

not everyone at davis studies ag... is mustangs too popular of a mascot so we became aggies? whatever...

GO AGs! lol

The heritage of UCD (established 1905, formally became a UC in 1959) is as the flagship university in the University of California system for agricultural studies. UCD continues to be a world leader in agricultural studies, though now it has also become a comprehensive university with over 100 majors; UCD remembers its heritage in agriculture with Aggie pride. Aggie pride is represented through the school mascot Gunrock the mustang.

Fight Song
Aggie Fight
Lift up your voices, now's the time to sing.
This is the day the Victory Bell will ring.
Loyal Aggies, all for one,
Never stopping 'till we've won.
Because the Mustang will show our team the way to fight,
Charging the enemy with all his might.
Let's go. Let's win. Today's the day,
The Aggies will fight! Fight! Fight!

we share our name "Aggie" with one too universities, thats the problem :(

those guys at Cornell are "aggies" too ;)

At least we don't have the same generic Bear mascot like a lot of the other UCs. Or rip our fight song from Cal. An Aggie is now just a name for a student of Davis.

We we yell Go Ags! it's at our fellow student athletes on the field. They are Aggies. Kind of makes more sense then yelling say...go Eaters.
