I'm a bit of a health nut+bodybuilder (contradiction I know right?)

One of the changes to my eating style in the past couple years is that I like to eat small, ~300-400 calorie meals, every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Is there a way I could sustain that eating style?
For example, I'd probably be getting the 19 premier plan. That would still only be 3 meals a day and I would feel like I wouldn't be getting it's full worth. Are students allowed to bag extra food like nuts/raw vegetables from the dining hall to carry around?
Also, would anybody happen to know how close a Costco is? Are there any close supermarkets that are walking distance? I heard that most students get lazy and end up just eating stuff on campus lol.

Lol…this is EXACTLY what I’ve been wondering. I prefer to eat consistently throughout the day, rather than 2 or 3 full meals, so I hope there is a way! (though I’m not a bodybuilder…I just sample everything)

There’s a Ralph’s, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods in Westwood so you don’t have to worry about nearby Super Markets. Unfortunately, I don’t think UCLA Dining will accommodate your unusual eating habits unless you have a medical condition.

UCLA is in Westwood. The second you walk off campus, you’re in Westwood. The Ralph’s is like 10 minute walking distance from the dorms.

Unfortunately, you can’t take food out of the dining halls other than 1 dessert; however, we have Cafes with entrees to order. You could go to a Cafe and order a sandwich / pizza/ salad /other entree, eat half of it, and then save some for later.

Why stop at fruit? I take out breads, sandwiches, even a couple of California rolls. Whatever that doesn’t soak the pocket. (Or if it does, take it out as soon as the coast is clear). Just wrap it around a tissue/napkin, put it in one of your many pockets and keep going until you don’t have any more available pockets. And then, carry one in your hand. If you wrap it in a napkin, it looks like you’re just taking out a pastry.

Just make sure you don’t look like a puff ball if you’re wearing tight clothes or something.

I hope you guys are being completely serious because I’d actually do it lol. What’s the punishment for taking food outside?
I won’t feel bad morally because I eat so little every time I would go into the dining room.

One time I saw a person get caught sneaking into the dining hall without swiping and all they did was lead him out the door. It’s not exactly the same as sneaking food out but I’d think that that’d be the lesser of the two offenses.

I heard from a friend that a friend tried to take certain condiments (ex: salt pepper, syrup etc) and all they said was to put it back. But since you’re taking food (that I assume is no longer good for the rest of us once you touch it), you should be fine. Though, if you get caught too many times, they might start recognizing your face…

And yea, we’re completely serious. Lol, I would join that FB group if I were not paranoid about potential employers looking up my FB.

I was a noob and got caught early on, like first week when it was hot (meaning I can’t wear a big jacket). I took like 3 apples, 3 banannas, and a couple plums - the lady looked at me and said you have to “put it back” - but since I had already touched and “contaminated them”, I just threw them in the trash can next to her.

I saw a guy try and sneak out a fully decorated hot dog. It had relish, mustard, the works.

He only made it to the lockers when the swiper called him out. I left so I dont know what she made him do with it, but he definitely couldnt take it with him.
