is it possible to break 600 on the CR part of the SAT even if you miss alot of the vocabulary portion of the test? i got 560 omitted at least 5 vocab questions and don't think that i did too well on one of my passages.

yea its possible as long as u get all the passages correct

it's possible but generally with a weak vocab many people are weak as weak on the reading or worse.

Study barron's words. Not all of them, but the special lists they have (I think there are two but they might have combined them in the new edition, i.e. "hot prospective list") And yes it is possible but I would focus more time studing vocab to get those 5 more right and easily put you over 600.

I suck at vocab, I just do the reading parts first.. some people say not to do that but it works ok for me.

vocab is really helpful. try to study a few words a day, rather than studying 100 one day, waiting a month, then studying 100 the next month. it's much better to be consistent.
I find CR really hard. Make sure you can prove your answer from the passage, instead of thinking it's right because you think it's right.

I guess I have a pretty retentive memory. What I did was remember all the vocab on the word lists. Hmm.... I can memorize up to 950 English words a day (not sure if my ability is due to my 170IQ). I have forgotten most of them though.

Actually, I am a new immigrant and have learnt English for 8 months only but somehow I got a 710CR, 640W (63,9) and 710M (not so stellar on this forum though ~.~)

I will definitely retake the test in November.

Yes, I'm an ESL student but I will prove that I'm competent one day....

holy begeezez! ^ I want your brain!

I can remember 150 words a day what means 2 chapters of Barrons each time...
Although I can do the double (300) I think it's important to be certain that you indeed remember all those words, rather then go over each words 5 seconds, and forget the first words when you are done
Believe me if you put effort in memorizing English words, you will see results in no time....

950 words a day!!?! You arent human, you are a machine son! :)

if you missed all 19 vocab questions & got every passage question correct you would score exactly a 600...so it is definitely possible.
