congrats on gettin an interview.....whats ur stats?

3.9 GPA
30 ACT
100+ Hours of Physician Shadowing
Close to 300 Hours of Hospital Volunteer Work
And like alot of other activities(i think my resume was like 5-6 pages lol)

I got into top 50 and really nervous.......

Lul same really really nervous... i have never had an interview before and this is going to be really important for me to get to the top 30=/

Congrats to both of you! I hope everything will go great!

I am looking at applying to the program next year. Do you know how many people applied this year? And I was just wondering your stats and what you recommend for me to do now in order to increase my chances of getting into the program.

Once again, good luck to both of you! You must have done pretty well to get invited to the interview, so hopefully things go pretty well for everyone who got an interview for the rest of the application process!

I think it was between 350-400 people who applied this year. Umm as for stats I think the key reason I got into the top 50 was I did alot of volunteer work and other extracurriculars like my resume was really really long. One of the things you could do would be volunteer alot at the Hospital as well as do other activities such as sports and other forms of volunteer work=]

Thanks. I have filled out an application to volunteer at the hospital down the street from me. I have already shadowed a doctor for a few days and I am going to be able to go and see a surgery next month. I have played soccer for over 10 years and have been a soccer ref. for the last 3 years. I do some other volunteering, mainly with my church. I just hope I can get some good hours for hospital volunteering and other med. related stuff. Thanks for the advice, I want to try and be in your place next year. Oh. and I have taken the ACT once and got a 30 (I retook this last week because I was mad about my reading score)

Just curious, and a bit off topic, do you want to be a general physician or go into a specialty? If you do want to specialize, what specialty? Sorry for going off topic.

Thanks for the info!

I'm not really sure yet lol

so has anyone gotten a call about top 30?
